About Me

Hi, and welcome to the blog! I'm Melissa Gravitis, a screenwriter, novelist and long-time sci-fi and fantasy lover. I'm passionate about all things writing, reading, sketching, and following dreams. My favourite shows include the Mandalorian, Sanditon, and Wandavision!

Special note about Quill Pen Writer: though this blog is mostly now inactive, all its posts remain accessible. I hope you find them useful!

  1. I love your hair color, it's so pretty! I'm a Christian, too. Are you homeschooled by any chance?

    1. Aw thanks so much! It's lovely to meet to another Christian blogger. <3 No, I'm not, but I have a few home-schooled friends. I attended an international school in Thailand and am now in an Australian public school. :D Are you home-schooled? :)

  2. It's been nice to have a look around your blog, Melissa! Thanks for leaving your link on mine. :)

That's amazing you grew up in Thailand! Plus, it's nice to 'meet' fellow Australians too. :) What instruments do you play?

    1. Not a problem; I'm so happy you enjoyed my blog! :D Thank you, it is pretty cool haha. Hello fellow Aussie! Yes, it's very nice to meet another Aussie blogger. :) I used to play trumpet for a few years, but sadly stopped, so now I'm more a music lover and listener than a player. Do you play any instruments?

    2. Oh yes! What kind of music is your preference for listening? My brother used to play trumpet, actually. I play violin and piano.

    3. Awesome! I love violin music, which is probably one of the reasons why I have a character who plays the violin. XD I listen to a mix between pop, movie soundtracks, Christian, clean rap, and instrumental music. :) What about you?

  3. Hey Melissa! It sounds like you've been on quite a few adventures in your life. Thailand must have been such a phenomenal experience. I am not a TCK myself, but my fiance spent part of his childhood growing up in Nigeria so I have a bit of a sense of the world that one enters returning home from his stories.
Australia is beautiful, I'm from Canada myself but I have some cousins living there and I went to visit them once upon a time. Such a unique and lovely country. You're so lucky!
It's so nice to meet you! :DD

    1. Hi Emily! (Sorry for the late reply!) I'm so glad you stopped by my blog. XD
Yes, it definitely was! That's awesome. Tell your fiance hi from a fellow TCK! It has been quite a struggle returning "home" considering I never feel quite settled in either country. :)
Australia's a gorgeous country! I am very lucky. :D I'd love to see Canada's beauty some day. Thanks so much for dropping by and following Emily! <3

  8. Hey!

I stumble upon your blog because I search in google how to write romance when you have no experience. Thanks for sharing that thought! Also, I want to say that I like your hairstyle!
