My Writing

Welcome to the page full of my crazy imaginings, collected into the form some people refer to as "novels"! What I mean is, below are blurbs and information about my current works-in-progress. I love each and every story, but below are some I hope will one day be on your bookshelf. Enjoy!

Golden Revenge
Genre: YA Fantasy/King Midas Retelling
Current Status: Third draft
Number of POVs: Four
Blurb

In a world ravaged by war, Taylan is yet another scarred teen refugee. He’s one in thousands of Paralinese that fled from their civil war strewn country, caught in bloody battles between magical royals and rebel soldiers. Now in Mohetania's refugee camp, he struggles to last from day to day. Hope keeps him alive; hope that someday he'll be able to return home, rid his country of blood-sucking royals, and bury his family.

Mida is a Mohetanian princess cursed with the touch of gold. A killer by age four, she keeps her hands trapped in magical leather. She isolates herself in order to protect others from the monster she believes lies inside her. But when her victim's brother pays her a visit, Mida becomes determined to break the curse. She begins to search for a cure, going straight to the heart of illegal magic markets.

When rebel soldiers begin to appear in the refugee camp, Taylan and Mida's desires and lives are caught up in plots of war. A war where there are no winners.

Of Traitors and Tricksters
Genre: YA Fantasy
Current Status: First draft
Number of POVs: Two
Blurb

Bakari is a traitor. Promised to be healed of a condition that makes even walking difficult, he kills the prince, his master. When he's betrayed and caught with a bloody knife, the royal family sentences him to execution by magic at dawn. Yet as the sun rises, the magicians discover he may be harder to kill than they thought.

Ebonee is an entertainer. Having fled from a rogue magician gang with her younger sister, she now dances for their food in the palace. But old friends and enemies are not finished with her yet, and want one last favour... A favour that could free her from their clutches forever. All she has to do is perform one tiny trick.

How harmful could it be?

Ashes Ever Shifting
Genre: YA Fantasy
Current Status: Brainstorming
Number of POVs: Four
Blurb:

Four weeks. Three shapeshifters. One city to destroy.

It took five years to crush the shape-shifter cities into dust, and now only a few remain, scurrying around from hole to hole. But inside one of these holes, lies more than a group of survivors. They have been training their young to shift forms, and to kill.

In the month long celebration to celebrate the victory over shape-shifters, three slip inside an enemy city, undercover as the city's residents. They have four weeks to shatter every window, crumble every building to dust.

What could possibly go wrong?
